Basic Volleyball Rules
The Serve
The serve must be made from behind the end line (from the back of the court)
Ball should be served overhead, or underarm.
Ball can not be hidden in anyway from opponents during service.
Ball mau touch the net on the way over.
Opponents cannot attack from service.
Scoring
Rally scoring is used in volleyball which means points are scored to winning team, regardless of who has served.
Points are scored when the ball lands on court, lands out of court or too many touches are taken to play ball over.
Games are played to 25pts.
Games must be won by 2pts.
Rotation
Teams rotate each time they win service
Player rotate clockwise
Playing the Games
Maximun of three hits per side
Ball cannot be hit twice in a row by any 1 player
Ball that touches the court line is in.
A legal touch is above the waist which does not stop the ball.
Two player touching the ball at once counts as just one touch but neither player can touch the ball in the next play.
A serve cannot be blocked or attacked.
Basic Mistakes
Stepping on or over the line during service.
Failure to serve the ball over the net.
Catching the ball rather than playing the ball.
Touching the net while ball is in play.
Failure to send the ball back over the net.
Playing the ball out of court.
