Object Control Criteria
Overarm Throw
Throwing arm is taken back. Move leg on the same side so step back at same time.
Opposite arm is held up at the front.
This give almost a cross shape with child standing side on to target.
Throwing arm should come forward, lead by the elbow.
Hips and shoulders should turn (mature thrower will lead with hips).
Underarm Slide
Opposite leg step forward during movement.
Arm with object swings back and then forwards, object is released low, near to ground.
Knees bend to allow hand to be close to the ground.
Kicking
Approach should be in a curve.
Kicking leg should bend in preparation.
Non kicking leg should be positioned beside the ball.
Arms in opposition.
Ball should be contacted below centre, with the top of the foot and not the toes.
Kicking leg follows through in direction of kick.
Passing
Ball should be contacted with the inside of the foot.
Non kicking leg should be placed beside the ball when stepping into the kick.
Kicking leg should swing and follow through in direction of the pass.
Trapping
Foot should be placed on top of the ball to trap the ball.
Arms should be used for balance.
