Space Bubble

The space Bubble teaches children about self space and general space.

Self space - personal space bubble. All the space the you can reach around yourself without moving off a set point.
General Space - Space shared by self and others.

Acitivities

Have the children explore their bubble. First blow up the bubble, start very small, curled on the floor, as the bubble is blown up expand and fill the space.
Explore the bubble by 'sticking' one foot to the ground and touching all parts of the bubble. Encourage the children to use differerent parts of their body to explore their bubble.

Moving in your bubble.
Have the children walk around the area, carefully without their bubble touching anything else.
Ask the children to walk into other bubbles but without touching anyone.

The quicker the children move the harder it will be to avoid other bubbles and people so start them slowly.

Play games where the children have to try to touch as many bubbles as the can in s certain time limit.

Split the class in half and have half avoiding bubbles and the other half trying to enter bubbles - without touching anyone!
